Best Selling Album of AC/DC

Australian rock band AC/DC ruled the world in the 1980s with numerous famous tracks from their best-selling album Back in Black. The album was released on July 25, 1980, and it was the band’s seventh studio album. It was the first album to feature lead singer Brian Johnson after the death of the previous lead singer, Bon Scott.

AC/DC became successful after their breakthrough album Highway To Hell came out in 1979. The band’s lead singer Scott died from alcohol poisoning after a drinking binge in February of 1980. Instead of breaking up the band, they decided to move forward and signed Johnson, who was a former vocalist for Geordie.

Back in Black was recorded in the Bahamas within seven weeks. It was composed by Johnson, Angus, and Malcolm Young, and produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange, who had also worked on Highway To Hell. The album’s signature all-black cover was a sign of respect and mourning dedicated to Scott.
